Anyone who knows me knows that I am a huge animal-lover-- I have been since I was in elementary school. Because of this, I've always battled my conscience about using makeup and hair products that test on animals. Luckily, I've found a lot of cruelty-free brands that I absolutely love, and now animal rights is something I've become very passionate for. Keep scrolling to see a few of my absolute favorite products, and click the images if you're interested in the product or brand and want to find out more!
Lush Cosmetics: 93,000 Miles Shower Jelly
I love this product because it's honestly really fun to use, and it soothes sore muscles, which helps me loads after a workout or a long day working as a banquet server. Shout-out to the worker at Lush who convinced me to buy this when I told myself I wouldn't buy anything.
Anastasia Beverly Hills: Contour Kit
I prefer powder over liquid face makeup, and this particular kit matches my slightly olive skin tone perfectly.
BECCA: Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter in "Moonstone"
This is the first highlighter I've ever purchased, but I am 100% in love with it. The next color on my list is "Champagne Pop" because of its peachy pink undertone.
It's a 10: Miracle Leave In Product
I won't lie, I get really bad split-ends, and I've tried literally everything to save my hair. If anything has made a difference, it's this leave-in spray. I bought it because I was trying to find a travel-sized conditioner, and this was the only one I could find. I'm really thankful that I did, because I actually saw a difference when I began using it.
Paul Mitchell: TeaTree Lavender Mint Moisturizing Shampoo
This product is really good for dry or damaged hair, and I love the strong scent of it.
Tarte: Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in "Achiote"
When they say 12 hours, they mean it. Tarte's Amazonian Clay is the only blush I ever use. This color works very well with more olive-toned skin since it is a darker hue, compared to brighter pinks such as "Magic", which I have as well.
Too Faced: Better Than Sex Mascara
People say there's no difference between drug store mascara and bougie mascara like this, but they're fooling themselves. I've gone through enough tubes of different brands of mascara to know that Better Than Sex is the winner. (Whether it's better than sex or not is your call.)
Urban Decay: Naked 2 Palette
As a proud owner of all three Naked palettes, this one takes the cake. Naked 3 comes in close second with its assortment of pink tones, but I like how Naked 2 has more of a variety of colors.
Yes To: Cucumber Soothing Hypoallergenic Facial Wipes
I'm all for facial wipes. They leave my skin feeling fresh in the morning and at night, and they're pretty good at removing makeup (mascara will always be a b*tch to take off). Plus, I am obsessed with cucumbers, and the scent is not overwhelming.
